This and That

Fans of the classic children’s book Where is the Green Sheep? are in for a treat, as best-selling children’s author Mem Fox and leading children’s illustrator and cartoonist extraordinaire Judy Horacek reunite to bring young readers a delightful new bedtime story, This and That.

This and ThatThis and That follows the adventures of two mice, who find themselves caught up in a variety of whimsical situations once bedtime begins.

From ‘cavernous caves and chimps with magic hats’ to far-off kingdoms where ‘kings and queens love to have a chat’, readers will have so much fun following the two main characters as they travel through each scenario until they return safely home. Judy Horacek’s illustrations are a joyous and colourful accompaniment to Mem Fox’s simple yet perfect prose, and this book is sure to capture the imaginations of young readers as well as those long-time Fox and Horacek fans.

Written specifically for bedtime, Fox explains “bed time is often a struggle for parents as their wide-eyed children procrastinate by asking for another story, and another, or anything else that will delay lights out … but reading is an important part of the nighty ritual. It helps children wind down and relax at the end of the day, as well as developing a lifelong love of reading … I hope This and That gives parents and children a delightful end to their day, that they can share”.
