When Are You Going to Write a Proper Book? A Day for Children’s Writers and Illustrators


Attention budding writers, illustrators, publishers! Clear your schedule on February 4th and nab a ticket to this event while you still can. 

On February 4th, Sarah Webb – dlr Writer in Residence – in association with Children’s Books Ireland (CBI) will host a jam-packed information day for anyone interested in writing a children’s book or learning about the industry.

The event coincides with CBI’s 20th birthday and will also mark the launch of the Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival Children’s Programme, which takes place from March 22nd to 26th 2017.

The event promises to cover everything from starting out and what you need to know before approaching a publisher, to royalties, events and the day-to-day life of a children’s book author.

Panelists for the day include representatives from CBI, Dublin City Arts Office, International Literary Festival Dublin, children’s books publishers and agents, and of course, authors themselves, including Alan Nolan, Sheena Wilkinson and Oisín McGann.
